Via Dolorosa Gallery Show and Silent Auction
April 8 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
The Via Dolorosa (often referred to as the Stations of the Cross) is a series of images depicting Jesus Christ along the “Way of Suffering” on the day of His Crucifixion, followed by his Resurrection. Traditionally, this event is held on Good Friday, but at Resurrection Brooklyn, we will commemorate those events together the night before Palm Sunday—Saturday, April 8, from 6 PM – 10 PM.
This special presentation of the Via Dolorosa will be a night when everyone can walk through the stations of art, music and story. The artists of Resurrection Brooklyn have created their own “images” based on a particular scripture verse … but in this case, it’s more than what you might have seen in a traditional setting. These “stations” have been created by a storyteller, a poet, photographers, graphic and mixed media artists, a musician, painters, and even a pastry artist! The works displayed will be for sale via a silent auction and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Arts Ministry and the Mercy Team at Resurrection Brooklyn.
Please drop-in and join us any time during the evening for this special remembrance as we begin Holy Week together. Refreshments will be served with a $5 suggested donation.
