Resurrection Brooklyn began worship in Park Slope in March 2004 with hopes of adding many neighborhood congregations to serve the growing and ever-changing population of New York City’s largest borough. We started with a small group of “Brooklynites”, many of whom were attending Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Manhattan and wanted a local congregation to which they could invite their friends and neighbors.
As the Park Slope congregation grew, we began making plans for another worshipping community in Williamsburg, which soon took root and also began to grow. Over time, these two congregations attracted people from other Brooklyn neighborhoods and we have now started three more congregations in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn Heights, and Sheepshead Bay. Together, and alongside many other churches and ministries in Brooklyn and across the world, we intend to be a faithful presence that displays God’s renewing work in Jesus Christ as we plant and nurture congregations throughout Brooklyn.
